In 2007: 4000 bikes were diverted away from landfill and either refurbished, re-used or recycled. 300 people were trained in cycle maintenance and repair at NVQ level 1. Over 400 bikes were given out to school children across Leicester City to help them learn how to cycle safely to school.
Based from our new premises at 26-28 Queen Street, Leicester, we now have nearly 5000 sq ft available! Combine this with the number of bikes we recycle each week, it makes for some impressive statistics around Bike recycling. We will say a fond farewell to our present home at 92 Rosebery Street next week, however our phone number (0116 2460048) remains unchanged. We will be expanding our shop and will introduce a range of new Dawes bikes and expand the current range of cycle accessories. If it's a bike repair you're after then our service just got better, with punctures while you wait and a vast supply of refurbished parts to allow for really cost effective repairs for those on a tight budget. In addition to its normal opening hours of 9am – 4.30pm, weekdays, the workshop will now open between 9am and 4.30pm every Saturday. Our training programs are also set to expand, with the introduction of the Park Tools course utilising the Big Blue Book of Bike Repair! More sales means more bikes are needed for refurbishment - if you have unwanted bikes, why not donate or part exchange? Call us and we will arrange a collection.
